Each night features a new historic home. Tours leave from the Historical Museum at 9:00pm and 10:00pm and last approximately 40 minutes. Reservations are not required but suggested as each tour is limited to 15 guests.

Who is ready for the 6th year of Yoga on the Beach?
I am always excited to have these yoga events on Staten Island, and I encourage the community to come out and take part in these free classes. Yoga benefits your mental, physical and spiritual well-being, and we are so fortunate to have our beautiful waterfront to use for these classes. Each class will offer residents an opportunity to unwind and relax with their friends and neighbors in a stress-free environment.
These free, beachfront events will take place at Turtle Circle (Father Capodanno Blvd. and Jefferson Ave). Attendees should bring a yoga mat or towel and arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.

Take a stroll with us every Saturday morning throughout the summer. Learn about the flora and fauna in our Park or just get out, get exercise, and enjoy the fresh air! All ages welcome. We will hike at least a mile each week.
Freshwater Fishing Willowbrook Park @ Eton Place and Richmond Avenue (in Willowbrook Park)
Catch-and-release fishing is a great way to get outdoors and discover nature just a few blocks from home. Our experienced Rangers teach the ethics of fishing and the ecology of our waterways on every fishing program. You can try to hook a pumpkinseed sunfish, carp, or chain pickerel. Whether you choose to grab a simple bamboo pole at a quiet lake or join more advanced saltwater programs, we have a program that fits your skill level. All equipment is provided; this program is recommended for ages 8 years and older. Participation is first come, first served.
Saturday Zoofaris
The Staten Island Zoo is happy to introduce our Saturday Zoofari program. We have created six exciting programs for children in PreK through 6th grade. This is a four hour (10am – 2pm) drop off program at the zoo.
Please pack a lunch for the day. There is no refrigeration for the lunches at the zoo so the lunches need to be non-perishable.
You can register for any number of sessions or all six! There is a 15% discount on the total price if you register for all six sessions.

Friends of Olmsted-Beil House “Olmsted Blooming” Spring Celebration
Attend this fundraiser and help in our mission to Preserve, Protect and Present the Olmsted-Beil House! Tickets include entrance, appetizers, pretzels, bratwurst and beer samples and two raffles for an autographed book by Patricia M. Salmon, Staten Island’s Brewery Barons and an autographed book by Justin Martin, Genius of Place: The Life of Frederick Law Olmsted. A brief sharing of the Olmsted-Beil House history.
There will be raffle tickets available for a 2-foot Cedar of Lebanon, propagated from a tree planted by Mr. Olmsted in the 1840s will be included. He lived in this 17th-century farmhouse from 1847 to the 1850s.

Know Before You Go You should arrive before 8:30 p.m. to get your spot. Feel free to bring a blanket to sit on; there will be a limited supply of chairs available. Bottled water is OK, but no glass. Reservations are not taken; space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. All are welcome!
The AAA observes at Lincoln Center every Friday and Saturday evening from April to the middle of August and for several weekends in September. We stargaze on the plaza, just north of the fountain, starting around sunset.

All runs are directed by volunteers and are free to all participants. The finish line is open until the last person is done. Participants are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the run and to leave their valuables at home – bag check is not provided. No need to do anything before the run, just show up. On June 23, enjoy the tale of The Tiny Seed! Carried from its flower home by the autumn wind, a tiny seed travels around the world. Its journey is perilous, and the reader learns the fate of fellow seeds: they can fall into the ocean, be burned by the sun, or be eaten by birds. Even those seeds that land and begin to grow are in danger of being stepped on or picked. Against the odds, however, this tiny seed survives to grow into a grand, beautiful flower, ready, in turn, to send its seeds out into the world on the wind.
Waddle into the world of penguin biology, geography, care, feeding, and conservation as the Zoo hosts a visit from the Jenkinson’s Aquarium. Three 30-minute presentations at 12:30, 1:30, and 2:30.
Seating is limited for each presentation, so come early to reserve your place! Scheduled keeper talks will highlight the many different species of flightless birds at our Zoo.
Kayak Staten Island @ Page Avenue Beach
Join Kayak Staten Island for free public kayaking off the shore at Conference House Park! Boats and life jackets will be provided for a short paddle. Launch help and paddling tips are given by experienced kayakers at the shore and on the water. Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet. Children aged 18 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. How did lesbian-identified photographers in the 1980s build community in real time? Often claiming figures like Alice Austen as inspiration, photographers such as Joan E. Biren and Tia Cross created narratives about becoming a photographer in order to claim legacies from histories of omission. Ariel Goldberg’s publications include The Estrangement Principle (Nightboat Books, 2016) and The Photographer (Roof Books, 2015). Goldberg’s research, writing and performance work has been supported by the New York Public Library, the Franklin Furnace Fund, SOMA in Mexico City, and Smith College. From 2014-2017, they organized readings at The Poetry Project. Goldberg teaches writing and from 2014-2017, they organized readings at The Poetry Project. They are the 2018-9 Zuckerman Fellow, Curator of Community Engagement at the Jewish History Museum in Tucson, AZ. Goldberg’s art writing has appeared in e-flux, Artforum, and Art in America. They are currently working on two books: Heavy Equipment, essays on the practices of LGBTQ photographers in the 1970s-90s, and A Century, a novel based on the partnership of art critic Elizabeth McCausland and photographer Berenice Abbott.
