Update for Businesses on Staten Island from the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce

New programs and assistance are being rolled out each day.

Here are a few highlights:

  • The City is offering small businesses with fewer than 5 employees a GRANT to cover 40% of payroll costs for two months to help retain employees.
  • Businesses with fewer than 100 employees who have seen sales decreases of 25% or more will be eligible for ZERO INTEREST LOANS of up to $75,000 from the City to help mitigate losses in profit.
  • The federal Small Business Administration is also providing DISASTER LOANS.
  • If you have a space that can potentially be used in emergencies, let NYC Emergency Management know by filling out their SURVEY.
  • The Staten Island Chamber wants to help promote all essential businesses on Staten Island that are open. For non-Chambers members, the Chamber is offering a Courtesy Listing on our website for the duration of the crisis to make Staten Island residents aware that you are open. Click HERE to get listed.
  • Taxpayers have a three-month extension to file their federal income taxes. TAX DAY has been moved from April 15 to July 15.
  • A NYS BILL guaranteeing job protection and pay for New Yorkers who have been quarantined as a result of novel coronavirus was signed.
As They Support Us …
We count on our neighborhood restaurants, coffee shops, grocers, supermarkets, bodegas, and delis all year long to keep us fed and happy.
They’ve never been more essential than they are now.
And as much as we’re counting on them, they’re counting on us to help them weather this major disruption to their business.
