Who is ready for the 6th year of Yoga on the Beach?

I am always excited to have these yoga events on Staten Island, and I encourage the community to come out and take part in these free classes. Yoga benefits your mental, physical and spiritual well-being, and we are so fortunate to have our beautiful waterfront to use for these classes. Each class will offer residents an opportunity to unwind and relax with their friends and neighbors in a stress-free environment.

These free, beachfront events will take place at Turtle Circle (Father Capodanno Blvd. and Jefferson Ave). Attendees should bring a yoga mat or towel and arrive 15 minutes early to prepare.

SIST Presents Summer Rep: Much Ado About Nothing and Antigone @ William H Pouch Scout Camp
Jun 29 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Spread the love

Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre Company Presents 2019 Summer Repertory:

MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, or THE NOTING: A SHAKESPEAREAN WORKPLACE
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Ariel Marcus

Gossip. Clock in. “Did you hear?” Judgements. Post its. “I thought she was.” Hearsay. Coffee break. “Can you believe that?” Whispers. Lunch room. “He said what?” Rumors. Lies. “Take note.” Here in the office, what is said around the watercooler can make or break you, but don’t clock out early or you’ll miss the truth. This modern “mockumentary” take on Shakespeare’s comedy masterpiece deals farcically about love and romance in the aftermath of corporate war – and in the midst of reality television.

And

ANTIGONE: NEVER AGAIN
By Sophocles
Directed by Ariana Nicoletta

During this time of political unrest and violence, one important group of our society has stood out: the activism of Millennials.

Antigone is an Ancient Greek tragedy that brings to light the kind of impact youth have when protesting injustice, especially in the face of violence and war. This production holds a mirror to own violent society and shows the strength and purity of young Antigone, along with her Millennial generation of activists, in face of being pushed aside and mocked as naïve.
