Staten Island OutLOUD's annual celebration of James Joyce's epic novel "Ulysses" takes place day early this year! Bloomsday (so named for Leopold Bloom, the chief protagonist) is traditionally celebrated on June 16th, because the story traces the wanderings of scores of Dublin characters from sunrise on June 16, 1904 til dawn the following day.
But this year, June 16 falls on Father's Day, so we're celebrating a day early to make sure that our Dads get their due.
