NEW STAPLETON WATERFRONT EXPANSION ON STATEN ISLAND

The New Stapleton Waterfront development is an investment for public infrastructure improvements that include roadway upgrades, bicycle lanes, a continuous waterfront esplanade, and the creation of a tidal wetlands cove for the benefit of the local community.

The park features over six acres of public green space with benches, water fountains, a fish cleaning station, and lit pathways.

The $130 million project will activate and expand an underutilized waterfront as well as unlock the opportunity for new development opportunities, including affordable housing, retail, and significant investment in public infrastructure.

These public improvements are being implemented by EDC’s Capital Program and is funded in part by the Department of State Environmental Protection Fund. The site will be maintained by NYC Parks.
