The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that there would be no trash, organics or recycling nor organics collection on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25, 2018.

Residents who normally receive Tuesday garbage and organics collection should place their materials out at curbside Tuesday, Dec. 25 after 4 p.m. for collection.

Residents who normally receive Tuesday recycling collection should place their materials out at curbside after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 1 for collection beginning Wednesday, January 2.

There are no collections on these holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • Lincoln’s Birthday
  • President’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Columbus Day
  • Election Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

Set out your trash and organics after 4 pm on the evening of the holiday, for collection beginning the next day. Collection may occur earlier or later than the usual time.
