Staten Island Arts is proud to present the 7th Annual International LUMEN Festival, with lead support from Atlantic Salt Company.  The June 25, 2016 event will take place at the iconic Atlantic Salt Company at 561 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301 from 7:00 PM – Midnight.

Staten Island Arts’ LUMEN Festival is an authentic contemporary art experience in New York City featuring emerging and established artists.  LUMEN’s goal is to connect artists to community in an alternative gallery setting. This 7th annual event will bring original visual, performance and installation art to new audiences, under the artistic vision and curator, Monica Valenzuela. Tickets for this event are $5/individual and $15/Group of up to 10 people until June 15th and $10/$20 after and at the door. Groups redeem ONE ticket and all persons must enter the festival at the same time. Tickets can be purchased starting April 15, 2016 through www.statenislandarts.org.

“This year, LUMEN Festival will feature both emerging and established artists from around the world, with strong representation from Staten Island, New York this year.  We are thrilled to present our seventh annual outdoor event with lead support from Atlantic Salt Company,” says Christopher Hellstrom, Executive Director at Staten Island Arts.

“Artist participation in LUMEN 2016 addresses concerns around documenting and managing change, ranging from universal to hyperlocal iterations, from landscape to body,” says Monica Valenzuela, curator for the 2016 iteration of the growing LUMEN Festival. “Some of the artists this year are analyzing routines while others are testing methodologies to try to make sense of a changing world. Some of my favorite pieces this year are incredibly nostalgic, celebrating what often sits under our nose, unnoticeably important until your realization on the day that it is no longer there.”
